This frequently asked questions page will hopefully answer those questions that you may have regarding our approach, thought processes, and products. We decided early on that we wanted to use compostable packaging as convenience was a cornerstone of our company approach and that meant single serve sachets (initially). Steve, being an avid scuba diver didn’t want any of the packaging he put into the market becoming an issue, so compostable packaging was our choice.

The name 93Green came after a large number of names were thought of and discarded, either because the url wasn’t available, terms were already trademarked or some of the social media tags were taken. The name relates to the year that Steve joined the Royal Marines Commandos, 1993 (hence the 93). The Green part of the name is a nod to the fact that Royal Marines Commandos wear a green beret, anad also because we ultimately want to be as eco-friendly a company as we possibly can. We are fully aware that there will be times when we don’t fully follow a totally green path, but green is always a test that we put every product or marketing approach through before implementing.

Ocean health is exceptionally important for the planet. It is estimated that the oceans absorb between 30%-50% of the carbon dioxide produced by burning fossil fuels. So, the oceans and the fauna and flora in them play an important role in the health of the planet. Giving to ocean health means that we try to take care of the planet as much as possible. Ecosystems within the oceans help with planetary health, so we decided that we would donate a percentage of our profits as a company to removing plastics from the ocean and the protection of endangered apex predators (Orcas and sharks). Apex predators ensure that ecosystems thrive and strong ecosystems means healthy oceans which means a healthier planet.

Cows are designed to produce the most natural milk from grass, hence they have ruminant stomachs for fermenting and getting the most nutrition from the grass. The natural grass pastures of New Zealand, not only provide a great lush source of grass, but also a wonderful backdrop for the cows.

We have called this product Premium 5 because there are 5 high quality sources of protein in this great tasting protein powder. There is nearly 30% of the protein coming from high quality hydrolysed collagen and the same amount from instantised ultra-filtered whey protein isolate. These form the largest percentage of the protein within the Premium 5 protein powder. The next largest component is the instantised ultra-filtered whey protein concentrate at just over 15% per serve. These 3 are added to provide ‘fast’ digested and absorbed proteins. Next comes the calcium caseinate which forms just over 15% of the product and is added as it is ‘slow’ digested and absorbed protein. Finally just over 6% of the protein content comes from ultra-filtered milk protein concentrate which fills in the gap between ‘fast’ and ‘slow’ digested and absorbed protein and can be classed as ‘medium’ absorbed and digested protein. We have tried to make this as comprehensive a product as possible with a broad variety of amino acids that are bio-available. By endeavouring to provide a wide spectrum of protein sources, we maximise the amino acid profile also with the different digestion rates we endeavour to make sure that optimum levels of amino acids are available in the bloodstream for absorption by the muscles and cells to maximise the effectiveness of this protein supplement.
